About 34 years back there were very few trained cardiologists. There were very few cardiologists who used to participate in the National Conference of the Cardiological Society of India and present scientific papers. In 1982, 10-15 cardiologists participated in the CSI conference held at Mumbai. There itself Late Dr.K.S.S.Appa called all of us and discussed about starting of CSI Bangalore Chapter and encouraged to establish a Bangalore Chapter. We prepared an application with the signature of all of us and handed over to the Hon. Gen. Secretary of the CSI.

n this way CSI Bangalore Chapter started functioning with Late Dr.K.S.S.Appa as President, Dr.A.S.C.Rao as Hon.Secretary. At present the society has more than 430 members. The Society Started with petty amount of Rs.100 then, today it has One Crore Sixty Lakhs as funds. Number of Activities were conducted and two times CSI-Bangalore Chapter was awarded Best CSI Chapter in the country. This is all due to the whole hearted support of the Honarable Members.
