Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery

Department is located in the ground floor of the college and has outpatient as well as teaching facilities.

Oral surgery is the only specialty in dentistry dealing with wide spectrum of surgical treatments like exodontia, minor surgical procedures wiz... Open extractions, surgical removal of wisdom teeth, alveoloplasty, frenectomy, enucleation of small cysts, biopsy, wiring in fractured jaws, implants etc…

Major surgical procedures are done under General Anesthesia wiz... Reduction & plate fixation for Facial bone fractures, Resections & Reconstruction of Jaw Cysts & Tumors, Surgical treatment of Oral Cancers, Orthognathic surgeries, Cleft lip & Palate, Distraction Osteogenesis and other procedures.

Undergraduates are trained to do Extractions, Minor oral surgical procedures and also trained in basic medical emergencies in the clinic.

Post graduate training is done in a very systematic method. Students are trained in basic medical sciences in initial part and are gradually trained in subject proper. They are trained to handle minor & major surgical procedures efficiently. Trained in medical emergencies both in clinic and wards.

Department is adequately equipped with good infrastructure to undertake the various academic activities.
